I'm Shelley Inglis, and I lead a team of top-notch, innovative policy experts in specific areas of governance and peacebuilding – anti-corruption, rule of law, human rights, conflict prevention and responsive national and local institutions.

My main areas of expertise:

  1.  Rule of Law, Gender and Human Rights
  2.  Peacebuilding and Peacekeeping
  3.  Strategic Planning, Facilitation and Training

My work:

Our team supports UNDP in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States to tackle development challenges through governance and peacebuilding programmes in support of national governments and societies.

We work closely with UN system partners, such as the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Department of Political Affairs as well as with intergovernmental and non-governmental partners, including the OSCE, OECD, EU, COE, Open Society Foundations and others.


Some recent achievements

2014 Contributed to intergovernmental dialogue and international advocacy around the inclusion of a goal to promote inclusive and peaceful societies, access to justice and responsive institutions in the Post 2015 development agenda.

2011 Played a key role in support of the UN Deputy Secretary – General’s establishment of high level mechanisms and policies to promote coordination and coherence of the UN’s engagement on rule of law.

2006 Advised UN peace operations in Liberia, Haiti, Afghanistan, Sudan, Cote d’Ivoire on strategic planning and good practices to strengthen their support to national judicial and legal systems in post-conflict and crisis environments.
