My work

My work focuses on human rights and legal aspects that strengthen the capacity of national stakeholders to prevent HIV, provide treatment and care, and respond to common co-infections such as Hepatitis C and multi drug-resistant tuberculosis, and other public health issues.

Some accomplishments

2009 - 2012 Supported development and implementation of interventions using the public health flexibilities of the World Trade Organization TRIPS Agreement to increase access to HIV treatment - in Africa, the Commonwealth of Independent States and Latin America.

2009 - 2011 Supported the Global Commission on HIV and the Law and contributed to their final report; supported the Eurasian Harm Reduction Network, Ukrainian Community Advisory Board, and other human rights NGOs on matters related to intellectual property rights and access to treatment; co-edited the UNDP good practice guide (pdf) on utilizing TRIPS flexibilities to increase access to HIV treatment, and edited its Russian edition; contributed to Millennium Development Goals Gap Reports.

I joined the Bratislava Regional Centre in September 2012, after moving from UNDP headquarters (HIV/AIDS). Prior to joining UNDP, I worked for regional and international NGOs in the field of human rights, law, and development, focusing on Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
