Leaving no one behind in implementing the 2030 Agenda: Roma inclusion in Europe

The European Union has a critical role to play in realising the 2030 Agenda’s promise to ‘leave no one behind’. This particularly concerns the social inclusion of Roma, most of whom live in EU Member States or in countries seeking EU accession or integration. UNDP has a long history of cooperation with the EU on Roma integration and can provide important support to European Roma inclusion efforts within the framework of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Based on an analysis of the latest data available and relevant policies related to Roma inclusion, the paper provides suggestions on the forms and directions this support may take.
